SWMM by Example

SWMM by Example is a JupyterBook implementation of worked SWMM examples from a variety of sources, some real, most are pedagogical. The examples will have a set of files needed to replicate the example, you simply have to download the files, and run the SWMM model using the various files to replicate the examples.

SWMM by Example is also a running prototype of the FreeSWMM web interface. FreeSWMM is a website as well as an interface to a desktop environment that is already provisioned with working implementations of SWMM and EPANET running the the EPA-supplied graphical user interface.

The contents of this Jupyter Book are public domain. SWMM and EPANET themselves are public domain software. To the best of the author’s knowledge, all content herein is either public domain or shareable with attribution.

This JupyterBook can be cloned from: https://github.com/dustykat/freeswmm-webroot A companion JupyterBook specific to EPANET can be cloned from: https://github.com/dustykat/ects-epanet/tree/main

These clones would give you the ability to generate and modify the contents. The contents are intended to be shared from a webserver with home directory named freeswmm-webroot. The working FreeSWMM web interface is described in the build notes herein. It is intended that trainers obtain the entire container and instantianate on Amazon Web Services as a Lightsail instance.
